My husband is a bloke who is a member of FDIA, they have been attending EDSAAC for decades! They have been dedicated patrons of this venue. When it changed to PCYC, the respect has diminished... They have been moved from room to room while being treated like second class citizens, in a venue that has changed from community-focused to business-focused.
I could go on for days with how ridiculous it has been for them and how they have been treated, but I will just say it's disrespectful and wrong and we are terribly annoyed and upset by the way they have been shuffled around and the rooms they have access to have been changed, while still being expected to pay the same amount for "membership". They are also being palmed off by management when they voice their grievances.
This is so disappointing from an establishment that has been community focused since we were children (30+ years). I understand that the "y" stands for youth, but if you're going to give these people who have been patrons for decades less space charge them less fees.
This is a community group that prioritises men's mental health, offering them a community group focused on physical health and comradery - this is something desperately needed and they have been relegated to nothing more than a cupboard, their equipment being stored in a room labeled "women's change room". It's disgusting and the organisation should be embarrassed at the way these community members have been treated!
You made these guys become members and pay annual membership and fortnightly fees under false pretenses and this is wrong. You've done the wrong thing and this should be addressed immediately.

I often play basketball here, mark had told us that we had an hour, charged us $5 each, (a slight discount) repeatedly said we had an hour, then kicked us off 20-30 minutes later. Open Courts are difficult to come by which is ridiculous as it is meant to be a youth centre helping keep young people out of trouble but they are too busy filling their pockets from old peoples with pickleball, it’s not that hard to leave one hoop open, just one hoop.

I usually come here to play basketball, but around 80% of the time the court is taken up by pickleball. This is meant to be a youth centre, yet it costs $20 a year for a membership and $8 every visit. For some people my age, that’s not affordable, which makes it harder to take part in sports and hobbies.

I’ve never given a 1 star review but I’m sorry to say, why would anyone become a member here? For intermediate Pickleball players they have 3 courts that allows for 12 players, yet they allow for 16 players to register with only 2 hours of play. This means 4 players must sideline and wait. Then the staff get the members to set up the courts and dismantle them. That’s not too bad but it does bite into your paid time. If you’re paying for membership isn’t that their job? There is no encouragement for joining up here. The same goes for the social players. They have 3 courts with 17 players. Simply looks like revenue raising rather than the interests of players. I gave them 1 star as they allowed an extra 30 minutes of play, but really just think about this sidelining 4 players, as it cools players down and makes them not ready to play until they warm up again. VERY POOR MANAGEMENT PEOPLE. Can see no benefit whatsoever becoming a member here. Very reluctant to book here again going forward until this overselling of spots is rectified in my honest opinion. My apologies if you see my comments too abrupt.
