The Sconery, a boutique café‑bakery in Chippendale, swaps coffee cups for mixing bowls at weekends when its kitchen becomes a children’s baking studio. Young chefs whisk, pipe and roll under the guidance of a pâtisserie‑trained instructor while parents relax with coffee just metres away.

Three party formats keep things flexible. The 2.5‑hour Kids Cupcake Party ($65–$75 pp, min 8) sees guests bake and ice six cupcakes, breaking midway for café snacks and fresh juice. The Biscuits & Chocolate Crackles Party ($65 pp, 2 h) is pitched at 4‑ to 6‑year‑olds who mix cookie dough, cut gingerbread and spoon chocolate crackles before scone time. Older decorators can opt for the shorter Cupcake Decorating Party ($50–$60 pp, 1 h 30 m, min 10). All packages include aprons, ingredients, a chef host and a take‑home box of sweets. Add a $15 kids’ lunch or a $65 grazing platter for adults, or bring a nut‑free birthday cake to serve during the break.
