What Parents Say

We have been coming here for years and unfortunately this place has really lost its spark. This place has not been maintained at all. There are so many safety risks, you can’t even use the magnet fishing game and there is so much sticky tape keeping things together and there was tissues instead of paper towels in the bathroom. There was no suitable toys for babies and the cleanliness is something that is clearly not being maintained. If the owner sees this, we loved this place, please fix it so we can come back!

My grandson loves Vitaland, but. .many of the items and equipment are broken and in need of maintenance. Would love to have scored higher but after paying $5.50 for an adult entry they charge extra $1 for a basic cup of tea. Overall disappointing given the entry fee for the kids.

Initially visited arpund August 2024. Avoid. In desperate need of a clean and maintenance, especially given the safety concerns. In desperate need of new, working toys. Genuinely reportable its unsafe for children imo. Although staff members could be seen picking up after toys and wiping down common areas it isn't enough. So many of the toys were broken, dirty and frankly dangerous, including loose screws. The vacuum ball machine on the wall was broken, and so many others, and all the signage. The foam mat that's meant to line the ballpit was outside the ballpit so there was nothing at the foot of the slide. There was a considerable gap at the top of the slide where kids started to put balls down them, a leg can easily get stuck. Loose cords. The dust and dirt was at adult eye level, it's crazy the staff didn't see them. I had to ask one to wipe it down. The cloud lights are literally falling apart and collecting so must dust its a safety/fire hazard. Just see the pictures for yourself. Visit any of the other play cafes nearby, Home at Waterside is my favourite. Edit Feb 2025 My parental brought my dtr here due to misunderstanding as initially they were meant to go to Waterside. My mother reports many of the items are still broken, she spoke to the manager however given my initial review was from 7 months ago, it seems that they don't care to update it. My mother noted the kitchen area was extremely desperate for working toys, the fridge was broken and hit a child on the head because the door swung open on its own. Despite this review and sending an email to Vitaland 7 months ago, I have not received any response and its clear that nothing has been addressed. I have since escalated these concerns to NSW Fair Trading. Another reviewer visited in the last week and his son got hmfd. My dtr has it too now. Avoid!!!!

I was asked to give a five star review and in return get a free train ticket. I can not give 5 stars for this place centre. It was one of the worst I’ve been too. I have been here before and it wasn’t a great experience, this time it was much worse. I wanted to try them out again but I won’t go back. When we arrived it looked like it had been stripped of most of the toys. The supermarket was empty. The staff don’t go around tidying to continue making it look nice. The baby area looked empty and uninviting. The slide is too fast and dangerous for probably under 5’s as my son has badly hit his head on this on the way down. The fishing area had just 3 magnets not 8. And none of them could actually reach the fish! None of the ball air shoots worked. Wasted space under the netting, nothing to play with. The ice cream van was empty. The staff were incredibly rude. They called me “lady” which I did not like. “Tap to pay here lady”, “ here you go lady” when handing me a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate wasn’t fabulous and not mixed properly with a clump of chocolate at the bottom. Dust and dirt in the block digging area. We also found some blocks with old dried food on it. My son enjoyed climbing on the net, the ball pit and throwing the balls at the video screen. It’s a very small centre and has a lot of potential but how it is at the moment it is not worth a visit.

I was unimpressed on our first visit. Items were broken, like door/draw handles/dials in the play kitchen etc. There is a storage area that is just behind the play kitchen shelves, which makes it all look very unkempt. The staff didn't seem to make an effort to keep the place in order. I find it a bit excessive that they charge so much for us adults to enter too but I also thought, don't be so negative and give them a go. Well, I went back a second time yesterday 17.04.2024 and it was even WORSE. The staff preferred to chat than to allow me to pay for our entry. When I was finally served the staff member could have let us know that the final train ride of the day was about to take place (330pm), but she didn't. So we missed out on a train ride. There were balls everywhere. The food shelves in the play kitchen were absolutely empty, all the food was strewn across the floors and in the cubby house. The tiny cubes of 'sand' from the digging pit were EVERYWHERE, posing a choke hazard for younger children (ie. our 16month olds), dress up clothes were strewn all over the floor. The air tubes in the ball pit were clogged with balls and 'sand cubes' and stuffed toys. My previous visit was at 10am and it was bad enough then but this visit (330pm) it looked like the staff had done zero to maintain the centre since it opened. $17.56 for one hour is completely unreasonable considering they had closed coffees already, we couldn't have a train ride and I had to tidy up so our children could actually play and be safe. Don't waste your money here. 2 out of 2 experiences = minus 10 stars. (Attached photos from 1st visit only, of broken equipment.)
